A 30-month Erasmus+ partnership between Poland, Greece and Cyprus starts work on bringing space exploration into secondary-school STEM lessons.
SmartExplorer started on 2 November 2025. The project is funded by the Erasmus+ programme as a cooperation partnership in school education and runs until May 2028.
Four partners take part: the Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences (CBK PAN), which coordinates the project; the teacher-training centre OEIiZK in Warsaw; the NOESIS Science Centre and Technology Museum in Thessaloniki; and the University of Cyprus.
In the first months CBK PAN prepares a detailed description of how space missions are planned and carried out. The other partners then use it to build the student activities, the teacher guide and the multimedia materials. After that come teacher training, pilot lessons in eight schools and dissemination that aims to reach more than 6,500 teachers and educators across Europe.
